MDA is an international, non-profit trade association representing and serving manufacturers, wholesalers, importers and exporters of musical instruments and accessories, sound reinforcement products and published music.

Since 1939 MDA has been making business better for its members. Through programs and events such as the MDA Exhibition & Consultation Day (also known as "Show & Tell" Day), which is held biannually in conjunction with NAMM the MDA has been helping the businesses of its members and the music industry experience incredible growth. Our annual convention, Show & Tell Day, and the member's reception that follows all provide networking opportunities that are unparalleled within the music industry. The MDA is proud of its record of achievement, unequaled by any comparable music trade association. There has been a continuous program of activities, services and projects, not only for the benefit of its members, but also for the music industry as a whole. Using the volunteered talents, time and generosity of its members, MDA instituted and pursued many different and unusual projects during its many years of existence.
